A Christmas Treat From DJ Kutski

It's not often you get good free music thrown at you, but it is the season of good will and Christmas spirit (by the bottle full). Of course Kutski has been giving out free mixes for a while via his genius titled 'Shit Mix Tapes' website. His latest offering will bring anyone over 18 to their knees with nostalgia, it is a full on homage to classic rave music.

Don't take my word for it, here's what Kutski said about the mix;

This is my Xmas give-away mix for 2011, a mashup mix of my favorite English, Scottish and Dutch hardcore anthems from the mid 90's. This is the era of music that I grew up with and that inspired me to get into DJ'ing back in the day, over 30 classics mixed and scratched in and hour megamix!! This was basically the soundtrack for my paper round when I was 14, I hope you enjoy it too!!

With the option to stream online or download as a free MP3, this Christmas free mix is bound to please everyone! Kutski listened to this music on his paper round, I will be thrashing it in the gym trying to shift some of this Christmas fat!

Find Kutski's free mix here!

Good Festival Tent Review - Both Tested By Me

The Gelert Cadiz 7 Man Tent

Well I have been working away a lot recently which is why there is a lack of new posts here, but the good news is I have been working away outdoors and have been using some tents quite a lot so I will be able to bring you a review of two of them ready for the festival season.

The two tents I used when working away were the 'Gelert Cadiz Seven Man Tent' as a main tent and the 'Gelert Rocky 3 Person Tent' as a more portable tent.

As with any tent the main areas you need to concentrate on are of course the price and the size. A bigger tent might have the advantages of a more impressive midnight drunken orgy but the smaller tent is of course cheaper and easier to set up.

Both tents I can report are superb in heavy rain (and I mean very heavy rain) and are more than capable of taking any weather the UK has to throw at your during this festival season. These tents are that good they would even be suitable to take to the infamous Glastonbury with its world renowned poor weather.

The Gelert Cadiz Seven Man Tent is originally a family tent, but of course at 2am in some field in Liverpool every becomes family so this tent is perfect. It comes with two bedrooms although one can be removed to store the beer in. As I said I have used the Gelert Cadiz a lot and I can assure it does hold up to the weather very well. The tent is also very clean to sleep in, by having the middle section this allows for a place to remove any muddy beer and urine stained clothes before getting into one of the dry warm bedrooms.

The Gelert Rocky Three Man Tent is of course four men smaller and an all around more 'fun' tent. It has the one main bedroom and a small porch area. The place where this tent really shines is its choice of colours, being a festival tent you are able to chose from a few funky patterns meaning even the most wrecked raver will be able to find his way to the right tent..if he wants too.

The Gelert Rocky 3 Man Tent in Zebra
The Gelert Cadiz comes in at £123
The Gelert Rocky comes in at £51.99

Both with free shipping from Amazon so you know they are trustworthy, both used by my so you know they are tested to destruction ;-)

As a final note I am back for good now so I can bring you all the latest hardcore and hard style news again once I refresh myself but until then I can clue you up on the best tents to take to festivals.

Early announcement - DJ Kutski wins HDA best UK DJ 2011

It probably comes as no surprise for followers of the hard dance scene, especially here in the UK but also in Europe. DJ Kutski has been making a name for himself over the last few years and helping to raise the profile of the hardcore and hard dance scene.

Using his DJ sets, radio 1 show and mix tape site (shitmixtapes) Kutski has been helping launch new and upcoming players in the hard scene and has been helping to keep it going from strength to strength. It's with great pleasure that I can tell you, it has recently been announced that he has won 'Best UK DJ' at the 2011 Hard Dance Awards.

It looks like they picked a wise choice for the 2011 HDA (Hard Dance Award) CD because it is mixed by Kutski himself.

The CD retails at £11.99 UK price and can be picked up from Amazon.co.uk

As the first major event in the hard dance calendar, the Hard Dance Awards are the best way to celebrate the scene we all love. For the eighth year running the great and good come together for the culmination of another hotly contested vote.
